UA Local 527 played host to the annual rookie competition for apprentices. The UA or United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada is a multi-craft union whose members are engaged in the fabrication, installation and servicing of piping systems. Along with the competition, there was a trade fair for the members to learn more about products available to help them with their trade. PeakWorks was pleased to participate and show off their latest fall protection and fall safety products.

If I had to pick one, it would be persistance – it pays off no matter what you are trying to achieve: academics, sport or business. The age old debate rages on: are trade shows worth the effort? Certainly in our case the 2011 Partners in Prevention Health and Safety Conference and Trade Show was a success. It gave us the chance to speak one on one with customers and end users about our new products and services.

This year we showcased the XS Platform line which includes horizontal lifelines, permanent roof anchors and guardrail systems along with the rest of the XS Platform facade access products. The smooth operation and the sleek look of the horizontal lifeline traveler got top marks.
